Hi, my name is Abigail.

I can imagine you are on this page wondering if I would be a good fit as your therapist. Let’s be honest, shopping for a therapist can be exhausting. So let me share a little bit about what you can expect when we work together so you can better see if we would be a good fit.

I am not emotionally removed, distant, or cold. We will laugh, joke, cry, yell, etc. I am one to push my sleeves up and jump in. Our work together will be based in safety, mutual respect, unconditional acceptance, and open communication.

I truly believe that YOU are the expert in your own story and have the power to author your life.

I have been working as a counselor in Idaho in community mental health since January 2023. I have worked with adults who come to counseling for various issues whether that be anxiety, depression, acculturation adjustment, trauma, substance use, or coping with psychosis. My counseling approach integrates relational-cultural therapy, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed somatic therapy. I believe we are influenced by our environment, larger culture, and systems which influence our connection and/or disconnection with others.

I hold a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a BA in Intercultural Studies. I have trainings and certifications in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Focused Trauma Care, and Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.

When I am not at work, I like to slow down outside with my family through hiking, climbing, swimming, camping, etc. I am an avid tea drinker, reader, and puzzler.

it is a privilege and honor to journey with you
